Florida was born in the Congo. She fled her country at age 13 because of war. She, along with her family were taken to a refugee camp in Uganda where she lived for 20 years and had 5 of her 6 children.
She arrived in the US in 2018 and lives in Bridgeport with her husband and 6 children and is happy to have a community of women at OWC who share her language and culture.
